Assessment Instructions
You must deliver an individual presentation for business communication strategy for two business
scenarios. You have the option of using the same New Zealand Business from Assessment 1 or the option
of selecting the new one. Your selection must be approved by your tutor before you start your research.
You must present for a m+in+imum of 15 minutes, and no more than 20 minutes (including Q&A).
The presentation should be organized to focus on the structures and “outputs” of the three (3) parts
The order and time slot of your presentation would be determined by your lecturer.
If you fail to turn up, present
+, or produce a hard copy of your slides during your allotted presentation time, you will automatically receive ZERO marks. (Only absences with medical c
+ertificate would be accepted. Any other reason for missing your presentation would NOT be accepted.)
Since this is an academic assessment, you are required to use academic sources.
You must cite ALL sources used in creating this assessment. Only genuine primary or secondary academic sources are allowed to be used as references. Blogs, Wikipedia, or other similar non-peer reviewed materials will not be considered or given marks. Use APA citation format (6th edition) when citing sources or references.
A copy of your presentation slides must also be submitted in Turnitin AT LEAST a day before the first day of presentations. Even if you are not presenting on the first day of presentations, you are required to submit your work to Turnitin within the deadline. Failure to do so will result to deductions.
A hard copy must be submitted to your lecturer before your presentation. NO PRINTOUTS = NO MARKS.

PART A – Investigate and develop communication strategies for a range of business scenarios (Learning Outcome 3 – 45 Marks Total)
i) Business Scenario Context (15 marks)
• Identify and discuss two business scenarios relevant to your chosen company and their impact on the business.
[Business Scenarios involve any event, situation, or activity – based on assumptions and factors – that will occur in the future. Examples include product launches, crisis communication plan, induction, advertising, business acquisition, location change, business expansion, etc.]
• Analyse your rationale for choosing the two scenarios.
(You will be marked based on the clarity (delivery) and content (quality) of your answer.)
ii) Communication Strategy Goal (15 marks)
For each business scenario identified in part A (i),
• Create a minimum of three goals for each scenario to improve their business performance using communication strategies.
• State clearly the goal(s) of your communication strategy for each scenario. (Ensure, where possible that your goal(s) apply ALL of the SMART criteria.)
For each scenario, develop one communication strategy to meet these goals.
• Develop one communication strategy for each of the business scenarios to meet these goals.
• Outline the components in the strategy and why you have chosen to suggest this strategy.
iii) Timeline of Communication Strategy (15 marks)
• Propose the timeline of the communica
• tion strategy for each scenario.
• Provide estimated start and end dates for your timeline. (The timeline should be realistic and achievable for the business.)
PART B: Apply the reporting mechanisms to communicate information about the business’ performance
Learning Outcome 2 [20 Marks Total]
[Based on your answer in part A, use the most appropriate reporting mechanism (communication methods) to achieve the goal of your communication strategy]
i) Visual Sample (10 marks)
• Create two visual samples of the communication strategy output being proposed (examples include: e-mails, pamphlets, brochures, billboards, notices, letters, etc.)
[5 marks will be awarded for creativity/originality. 5 marks will be awarded for the content/message]
ii) Budget and Resources (10 marks)
• Provide a budget for each communication strategy.
• Include your costing and the resources needed to execute the method.
Note: Costing needs to be realistic.
PART C: Evaluate the intended stakeholders and demonstrate effective communication
Learning Outcome 4 [30 Marks Total]
i) Evaluate Stakeholder Characteristics for both scenarios (15 marks)
• Characterise the stakeholder-by discussing if the audience is an internal or external stakeholder, and by providing 4 relevant demographic characteristics of your stakeholder.
[A minimum of two key stakeholder audiences to be included for each scenario.]
ii) Importance of Strategic Relations with the Stakeholder (5 marks)
• Discuss the importance of maintaining strategic relations with the stakeholders.
iii) Justification of the Reporting Mechanism for both scenarios (15 marks)
• Outline how you might report on or evaluate the effectiveness of the communication strategy.
• Justify why your reporting mechanisms are the most effective method in communicating with your intended audience/stakeholders.

Part D: Conclusion
(Marks are incorporated in other parts of the presentation.)
i) Conclusion
• Write a conclusion for your presentation summarising the key points in Part A to D.
• You may also synthesize the information provided in your presentation. Your presentation would be marked based on the cohesiveness and comprehensiveness of your conclusion.
ii) References
Ensure that ALL sources used in your research are cited in your presentation. Use APA 6th edition format in your references. Links, URLs, incorrect, and incomplete citations would not be considered and must be redone. It is recommended for you to use at least 5 academic sources.
